This study aimed to determine the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and intention of employees to practice breastfeeding in the workplace in selected government line agencies in Zamboanga City. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study using a survey questionnaire given to employees working among government line agencies. This study utilized two sampling methods. The first sampling is convenient sampling and was used to choose the government line agencies, which were regional offices in Zamboanga City. The second method used was quota sampling and this was used to get the number of respondents in the selected government line agencies in Zamboanga City. The results of the study showed that the employees working among selected government line agencies in Zamboanga City have above average knowledge with a mean score of 6.37. They also have positive attitudes (mean score= 3.56) on breastfeeding in the workplace. There are a little over half of the respondents who have intentions to practice breastfeeding in the workplace. The participants also have very strong belief with a mean answer of 4.42, showing high importance on the breastfeeding and expressing of breast milk in the workplace. The study concludes that employees working in selected government line agencies in Zamboanga City have above average breastfeeding knowledge, positive attitudes, and very strong beliefs. There is also some intention regarding breastfeeding in the workplace. There is more that can be done to the intentions to practice. The study recommends the implementation of the regulating rules on promotion of breastfeeding in government line agencies and future studies on breastfeeding in the setting of other workplace, private and public offices alike.
