This study was conducted to determine the factors associated with contraceptive use among young multiparas in the 14 main district barangay health centers of Zamboanga City. The study was an analytical cross-sectional study involving 320 young multiparas aged 15-25 years old studied on April 2017. The respondents were selected through a purposive sampling method. The research instruments used for data gathering included a questionnaire adapted from the National Demographic and Health Survey to analyze the following variables; socio demographic characteristics, contraceptive knowledge and beliefs and fertility preferences. Frequencies and percentages were utilized for general characteristics. Logistic regression was used to identify the factors associated with contraceptive use. Factors of current modern contraceptive use were identified with p=0.05. Results revealed that the prevalence rate of young multiparas aged 15-25 for the year 2016 is 39.95% while the prevalence of contraceptive use among young multiparas in the study is 30.62%. The outcome of the multiple regression analysis yielded factors which were statistically significant with p value of <0.05. Most of the factors that have been identified to be statistically significant were from fertility preferences and contraceptive knowledge and beliefs. Out of the nine factors that were determined to have a statistically significant association, five factors are inhibitive to modern contraceptive use ̶ one year ago contraceptive use and gravidity with a p-value of 0.000, children born alive with a p-value of 0.011, ideal number of children with a p-value of 0.025 and preference for daughters with a p-value of 0.042, while the four remaining factors facilitate modern contraceptive use ̶ duration of current method used, advised on side effects of current method by health worker and with living daughters with a p-value of 0.000 and cost with a p-value of 0.003.
