They were given self-administered questionnaires on their personal and medical history, quality of diet and physical activity. Height, weight, and blood pressure were also taken. Frequency distribution and percentile were used to analyze the data. The result of the study showed that 39% of the respondents are with advanced age. The result also revealed that obesity is prevalent among 34% of the respondents and 51% among all respondents have a positive family history of cardiovascular disease. Moreover, 28% of the respondents were hypertensive. Food consumption survey also showed that the respondents’ diet is particularly deficient in fruit, vegetables, and legumes but high in energy intake from carbohydrate. This study concluded that 31% of the secondary school teachers in the selected schools were at moderate to high risk of developing cardiovascular disease within 10 years. With the results of the study, it would be ideal to include other risk factors for cardiovascular disease such as alcohol intake and to post menauposal state for women. It is further recommended that increased sample size of the respondents shall be done in future studies.
