IN-PATIENTS’ SATISFACTION ON THE SERVICES AND PHYSICIANS’ SATISFACTION ON THE WORKING ENVIRONMENTS IN ZAMBOANGA CITY MEDICAL CENTER, ZAMBOANGA CITY

The patients’ satisfaction on services is a vital outcome of care and the physician’s satisfaction on working environment is essential to assess due to its contributory effects in the hospital’s overall total quality service management. A descriptive cross sectional study exploring patients’ satisfaction on services and physicians’ satisfaction on working environment was doneon March to April 2017 in Zamboanga City Medical Center. Self-administered surveys were conducted randomly among 300 patients from seven departments and 102 physicians from 11 departments using ServQual questionnaires to explore the Tangibles, Reliability, Response, Assurance, and Empathy dimensions. Results showedan overall patients’ satisfaction rate on the services offered by the Zamboanga City Medical Center of 93% with a confidence interval (CI) of 89-96% suggesting that the 90% minimum customer satisfaction rate for ZCMC was achieved in the 11 departments. The overall physicians’ satisfaction rate was 82%, CI: 73-89%. Among the 11 departments, five had a 100% satisfaction rate while others ranged from 37-90%.Generally, patients admitted in the seven departments were satisfied with the services that Zamboanga City Medical Center offered. The physicians from the OB-GYN, Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, and Anesthesiology Departments were all satisfied on their working environment in Zamboanga City Medical Center. On the other hand, the remaining six departments had diverse physicians’ satisfaction rates in their working environment.
