With the recent issues on vaccines and the recent city-wide measles outbreak the research aims to determine the prevalence of vaccine hesitancy and its associated determinant. The study was done in the top 3 measles affected barangays in the city. The respondents are parents residing in these barangays with children eligible for Childhood Immunization Program and School Based Immunization. The study used the Parents Attitude toward Childhood Vaccination (PACV) Questionnaire to determine the prevalence of vaccine hesitancy and the Determinants Questionnaire with Focused Group Discussion to identify the vaccine hesitancy determinants. The study identified a prevalence of 16.74% vaccine hesitance among the respondents and identified the following determinants: In Contextual Influence: Communication and Media Environment; Geographic Barrier; and Religion and Culture. In individual and group influences: Experience with past vaccinations (OR: 4.99, 95% CI 2.04 – 12.17) and Health Provider Trust and in Vaccine/Vaccination Specific Issue: Scientific Risk/Benefit. The researcher recommends further identification of the prevalence and determinants in other urban setting and identification of effective strategies to address this issue.
