This quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study determined the effect of the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon education program on the complementary feeding practices, in terms of Minimum Dietary Diversity (MDD), Minimum Meal Frequency (MMF) and Minimum Acceptable Diet (MAD)and the nutritional status of children ages 6-23 months, in terms of weight-for-age (WFA), length-for-age (LFA) and weight-for-length (WFL) status, in selected barangays in the Municipality of Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte. Convenience sampling was utilized to obtain 57 respondents for this study. The 3-day food diary, weight and height measurements of the children were obtained before and after the intervention. A McNemar’s test was utilized to compare the number of children who achieved the MDD, MMF and MAD before and after the intervention. The findings showed a significant increase in the number of children who achieved the MDD from 24.6% to 94.7% after the intervention (p-value<.000). A significant increase in the number of children who achieved the MMF from 66.7% to 96.5% after the intervention was also noted (p-value<..000). The number of respondents who achieved the MAD significantly increased from 17.5% to 91.2% after the intervention (p-value<.000). A McNemar’s test was used to compare the number of children categorized as normal in terms of WFA, LFA and WFL. Three months after the intervention, a significant increase in the number of children who achieved a normal LFA status was noted from 58% to 77% (p-value<.007). This study concludes that the Pabasa sa Nutrisyon education program significantly improved the complementary feeding practices in terms of MDD, MMF and MAD, as well as the length-for-age status of the children ages 6-23 months in selected
