Globally, an estimated 1.9 billion people use either an unimproved water source or an improved source that is fecal-contaminated. An estimated 842,000 deaths each year are attributable to inadequate water sanitation and hygiene (WHO, 2015). Barangay Upper Salug Daku has a total population of 1037 with 236 households and it was noted that acute gastroenteritis ranked first on the Top 10 morbidity cases. Microbiological analysis was done to the 6 main water sources in the said barangay and all of them failed the safe water standard. This study aims to determine the acceptance of Mu Help 2 Others (H2O) Potable Water Package as water purification method among users in Barangay Upper Salug Daku, Municipality of Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur. MU H20 (Help 2 Others) Potable Water Package is one the variety of candidate technologies for treatment of drinking water. This study utilized a descriptive cohort study and a total member of 149 or 63.14 % of the total households attended the lecture. Results showed that all filtered water sample from the mini water filter have passed the microbiological analysis and were classified as safe source for drinking water. Moreover, this study proves that there is a high acceptance of the Mu Help 2 Others (H2O) Potable Water Package as a means of water purification method. Further probing also determined the perceptions of the users affecting the acceptance of Mu Help 2 Others Potable Water Package. Some of the respondents in this study do not filter mainly because of the belief that only children can experience abdominal pain from the water, on the other hand, most of the respondents filter because of the motivation from health personnel.
