This is a pre- and post-interventional study that aimed to determine the effect of lecture as an educational intervention on the knowledge and attitude on domestic violence among residents of Barangay Goin, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte. The respondents of this study were male and female obtained through convenience sampling with a total of 100 respondents. The knowledge and attitude of the respondents were evaluated before and after the intervention using self-administered questionnaires. There were two post-intervention tests –first was right after the lecture and secondly, one month after the lecture. The respondents showed an improvement on their knowledge after the lecture based on the increase on their mean scores during the pre-intervention at 17.65 to post-intervention 1 at 19.85 and post-intervention 2 at 19.47 which showed a statistical significance at p-value of 0.000. The result for the attitude domain showed an increase in the attitude of the respondents after the lecture however this result was not retained one month after the lecture was conducted. This study concluded that in this setting, lecture was effective on increasing the knowledge of the respondents about domestic violence however it was not effective in improving the attitude of the respondents about domestic violence.
